Group Debugging

Activity

Common in computer programming to debug faulty programs as a team as a learning opportunity. Students can be brought together using a synchronous tool or sharing a screen, and working collaboratively as they would in a real-world situation.

Appropriate Content Areas

Primarily in computer science, but modifiable to group problem-solving in medicine, science, education, law, writing, design, etc.

Goals & Objectives

Identify how the activity aligns with student learning objectives (SLOs).

The goal is generally to develop student knowledge and how to work well with others. It can also demonstrate that the student has enough knowledge to identify/locate problems and come up with solutions.
